Accommodations Part 2

Research is my middle name at the moment, its really hard when you have never been to a place and then need to stay for 3 wks or so...but i have depended on advice from ALL who have ventured before me.

Places I am considering:
  • Gree Leaf Apartment, in Kalkaji- JoJo and Timmy stayed there..LOVE IT!
  • Tulip House
  • Apartment 18

Lets see where i end up going..if anyone is staying in Delhi the same time please let us know where you booked or will book (July 15-Aug.4)..

We had a place in Kalkaji as well with Green Leaf. It wasn't the same as J/T's place (although I thought I had booked that one) so make sure if you book there they put you in the right apartment.

Kalkaji is a very vibrant neighborhood with lots of local color to keep your eyes busy. But you will likely be the only westerners on the block.

Our apt was sufficient but one of the helpers ROBBED me of cash in my closet when he was cleaning the room. We got the money back in the end but it was not a highlight of that stay! Green Leaf did NOT terminate the employee because they felt he learned his lesson!!!! So, just be careful with them.

GOOD LUCK!!!

It's probably too expensive to lodge at for such a long period, but if you have a chance, grab breakfast/brunch at the Le Méridien. That place is FANTASTIC and has the best international breakfast I have ever seen (and I've traveled a fair amount.)
If you are not a guest, it's expensive (I think it's around $30), but totally worth the indulge. I was able to satisfy my western cravings along with tasting great food from all over.
As an additional bonus, you will see quite a collection of international traveler here, including lots of westerners on business travel.

Hi Rick and Amanda

Having just returned from staying at Apartment 18 I cannot recommend this as suitable if you have babies. It is too noisy as is situated on a very busy main road, and the level of cleanliness leaves alot to be desired. The state of the bath towels they give you demonstrates they dont have alot of money as well as the fact they kept telling me double window glazing was on the way, as was the gymnasium they already advertised. I had to share a clothes air dryer with the apartment next door until I said I thought it was ridiculous because the other apartment kept using it. They eventually bought another airer. The staff there also take too long to clean when you ask them - on 3 occasions we went out for 4-5 hours and came back and the room still had not been cleaned. I am not a fusspot at all but lazy is a good term to describe their approach. Good Luck on your search we have decided after looking at anumber of places now that we will stay at Svelte should we be successful in getting babies.
